A short piece from CNN news which discusses the profits that are being made from the legalisation of marijuana in America. The legalisation of Cannabis is being described as potentially being the gold rush of 2010. Empty shops are being filled and new businesses are being created, and all this is redirecting money from the criminal gangs who’s hands it would of ended up in when medical marijuana was illegal.
This is only the tip of the iceberg of possibility, imagine if the sale of cannabis for recreational use was legalised. A whole array of new businesses would be able to start up, deaths from things like alcohol and tobacco would decrease and criminal gangs would have their cash supply taken away.
